Your god is whoever, you listen to and obey...
Many say Jesus is my God, but their actions testify
otherwise. They listen to their job, their spouse,
or friends and would sooner obey them than God.

Religion and the churches of this country!
Diversions from the true God.

For creatures like us, created to adore glory, we must find an object worthy of our worship. The cure
for boredom is not diversion or distraction, but substantive enthrallment. We must encounter God, " be
intellectually and emotionally staggered by the everlasting, unchanging supremacy of Christ in all things."

The number one form of idolatry today.
Is fostered by cultures that continue to drift away from sound biblical teaching, just as Paul warned us, "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine" (2 Timothy 4:3). In these pluralistic, liberal times, many cultures have, redefined God. We have
forsaken the God revealed to us in Scripture and have recast Him to comply with our own inclinations and desires--a "kinder and gentler" god who is  infinitely more tolerant than the One revealed in Scripture. One who is less demanding and less judgmental and who will tolerate many lifestyles without placing guilt on anyone's shoulders. As this idolatry is propagated by churches around the world, many congregants believe they are worshipping the one, true God. However, these made-over gods are created by man, and to worship them is to worship idols. Worshipping a god of one's own making is particularly tempting for many whose habits and lifestyles and drives and desires are not
In harmony with Scripture.    The things of this world will never fully satisfy the human heart. They were never meant to. The sinful things
deceive us and ultimately lead only to death (Romans 6:23). The good things of this world are gifts from God, meant to be enjoyed with a thankful heart, in submission to Him and for His glory. But when the gift replaces the Giver or the created replaces the Creator in our lives, we have fallen into idolatry. And no idol can infuse our lives with meaning or worth or give us eternal hope. As Solomon beautifully
conveys in the book of Ecclesiastes, apart from a right relationship with God, life is futile. We were created in God's image (Genesis 1:27) and designed to worship and glorify Him as He alone is worthy of our worship. God has placed "eternity in man's heart" (Ecclesiastes 3:11), and a relationship with Jesus Christ is the way to fulfill this longing for eternal life.   Our idolatrous pursuits will leave us empty, unsatisfied, and, ultimately, on the road most people take, one that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13).

Many churches are propagating idols in the preaching of the health, wealth, and prosperity  a gospel built on the idol of self-esteem. We will never find God or true happiness focusing on ourselves.

"Our hearts will invariably lead us either to the fleeting pleasures of addiction or to God."

"Brain Scans Show Facebook and Cocaine Addictions Are the Same,"  How does this effect your relationship with God??

This nation does not worship the true cross.
It worships the shadow of the cross.

God is not your facebook friend!!
Need a friend?   find Jesus!

The false gods of America are sex, money of course, drugs, weed, cell phones, facebook, twitter,
drunkenness, cars, malls, sports, etc, ect, ect.  If anyone loves the things of the world the love of the
father is not in him. 1 John 2:15 When your life turns into it's all about me and you become selfish,
that is turning yourself into a god.  Your god. You will worship yourself

Idols are connected to demons!  Deuteronomy 32:16-17  "They stirred Him to jealousy with strange gods; with abominations they provoked Him to anger. They sacrificed to demons that were no gods, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded"  This passage associates pagan gods with "demons" and warns God's people not to be involved with idolatry.
Leviticus 17:7 adds another important connection: "They shall no more offer their sacrifices to demons, after whom they have played the harlot"  Here, these demons has "goat demons" are other gods worshiped by the surrounding cultures. Again, demons are equated with pagan gods in this passage.
It is no coincidence that demonic activity is associated with religions that embrace a multitude of gods and goddesses. A desire to have supernatural contact with the "spirit world" often focuses people on supernatural power apart from the power God offers through a relationship with Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. The devil desires to be worshiped (
Matthew 4:9), and demons teach false doctrine in order to deceive (1 Timothy 4:1). Those who worship false gods are, wittingly or unwittingly, pledging their allegiance to evil spirits who desire to usurp God's rightful place in our hearts.
To the Christian, an idol is "nothing" (
1 Corinthians 8:4). Demons and their deceit have no true power over us. Any power they wield pales in comparison with the power of Christ Mark 5:7-8).

Facebook  Pinterest, Instagram, cell phones and various other things often lead to
addiction that blinds us to beauty, clouds our self-perception and stifles prayer
